Wildlife Track & Sign Survey Training
Remember the last time you came across a strange track and wondered what animal made it? Was it a mountain lion? A bobcat? A gray fox? An opossum? Where was it going? What was it doing?
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to identify the wildlife that invisibly moves all round us, our half-day Wildlife Survey Training Workshop is for you.
All animals leave clues to tell us who they are and what they’ve been doing. Footprints, fur, feathers and even scat all tell a story. With a little practice, you can learn to identify wild animals from the tracks you see while hiking, walking on the beach, or gardening in your backyard.
A few of the things you will learn include:
The best places to find wild animal tracks.
How to identify what animal made the track.
Wildlife behavior -- is the animal predator or prey -- or both?
How to recognize and ID wildlife feeding and territorial marking sign.
How to identify scats of bobcat, coyote, fox, skunk, squirrel, and rodent.
Note: This is a hands-on workshop in the field with certified wildlife trackers looking at real animal tracks. The morning will change how you experience the outdoors and interpret animal tracks and behavior.
